There's certainly some noise going on somewhere because the tensioning smartphone app relies on twanging the belt, although those frequencies may be barely audible.

I would still suggest a test ride.

Seems not all belts are noisy in ordinary use, and even if it drums like the one I tried you might think it no worse than a low tyre rumble.

Not in the market just yet, but will definitely test ride first.

I would be more likely to go for a drop bar ideally, but do like the styling of the Bad Boys.

I've been riding a Boardman Urb with Alfine 8 hub and have returned it to halfords because of a whirling/mild grinding noise in 4th and 8th. They tell me that the bike is 100% but it's not, the sound is driving me crazy. Has anyone else experienced a noise from the hub? They have said they've tried to order a new wheel but that it isn't possible so they've offered me to order a completely new Boardman again or pick another bike which has made me look at this..

..but I've no experience of belt drives plus I'd be worried if the noise is just common place with the hubs. In that case, i wouldn't be happy with it again. Maybe it's a matter of going something more mainstream and picking something like this..
