I've had mirrors of varuous types now and again on several bikes over the years. I think i gave up after having one snapped off when a bus clipped me and then i broke its replacement a few weeks later dragging the bike up a tenement stair.

As for helmet mirrors, they do not look safe to me, I may have just started something there.

When I worked in a bike shop people would ask me about this sort of thing, or how high their saddle 'should' be.
I always said "What's comfortable enough that you'll want to keep riding?" Problem solved.

It might save your life (or that of someone else one day) so just ignore your mates.

It might also kill you, if you rely on the limited view of a small mirror rather than shoulder checking

Yup, mine as well. Wish I could find a better one though.

From what I've heard, this is the bee's knees and better than the cateye having a bigger mirror.
Quite like my cateye though. I bought two spare when I heard they were no longer being produced.

@Spoons47 , just thought then, if you really wanna stick it to your mates, nothing says uncool sandal wearing grey bearded train spotter like a kickstand.

Just don't let it become an obsession like the Scooterists did in the 60's by sticking them all over the bike.

I think they can be helpful by allowing you to glance in to them to check that it is clear before you look over your shoulder. I find that I tend to deviate a bit when I turn round to see if it is clear behind me .
