I've had mirrors of varuous types now and again on several bikes over the years. I think i gave up after having one snapped off when a bus clipped me and then i broke its replacement a few weeks later dragging the bike up a tenement stair.

I am sure many on here buy their bikes presents, was it grateful.

As for helmet mirrors, they do not look safe to me, I may have just started something there.

Just don't let it become an obsession like the Scooterists did in the 60's by sticking them all over the bike.

I think they can be helpful by allowing you to glance in to them to check that it is clear before you look over your shoulder. I find that I tend to deviate a bit when I turn round to see if it is clear behind me .
