If it's not very good; it's not very good.
I can never understand people fawning over 'art' that shows little talent, regardless of the supposed stature of the artist.

So which is? Not good or not showing talent? They are not the same thing. Something can show a lot of talent, but not be good per se. It's reasonable to not want to own/display it notwithstanding the age of the artist* but saying it shows no talent? If it was painted by a six year old, I'd be considering extra classes to see if it's a talent they can develop.

*though if I or a loved one had painted it, I'd display it proudly

That's a pretty murky photograph, let's clean it up a bit

Corrected the white balance, adjusted the levels and as a bonus, tried to straighten the horizon.

Who's painted it? Is it the OP?

Looks like it is signed by Sam??? in the bottom left corner.

I was once one of the directors of a small gallery. Some of the stuff we were proudly offered and expected to display was truly horrendous and the OP’s offering while a bit naive would be acceptable to many people. Some took great offence at being very politely refused.

I remember years ago a group of us stopped off at Teddington on the boats . I had a wonder down the high street and went into an art shop where the owner convinced me to set myself up with some water based painting equipment . I dropped the stuff onto the boat and headed to the pub to join the rest of my mates .
In the morning i woke with the early birds and set up my new painting hobby . I was so engrossed in what i was doing time just flew by and it was soon opening time at the pub . I got the call from one of my mates and he said lets see what you have been painting all morning . We both stood back to admire my work and both wet ourselves laughing . It was truly rubbish but kept me entertained for hours .
its still in a painting book somewhere so if i find it i'll post it for the fun of it .
I think everyone should have a go at painting as an adult as i bet the last time most people did it was a school .
I'm finding oil on canvass more fun than the waterbased stuff right now .
