The problem seems to me that there are too many similar TV programmes relying on a supply of comedians, and not enough talent to go round. Mock the Week, for example, seems to be on whenever I get back from the pub, which is pretty often. Sometimes it's funny, and I have a soft spot for David Mitchell, but generally the format produces mediocrity, even from good comics. It has nowhere left to go. I feel a bit sorry for people like Andy Parsons - I saw him live before he was well-known on TV, because I happened to be working at the same venue at the Fringe one year. Likeable but lightweight, and he probably knows it. But I expect it's difficult to turn the regular well-paid gig down...

The real problem about ISIHAC is that we're still mourning and missing Humph.
