As the title says really.

I've seen loads of different android apps that all claim to reduce your battery useage and lengthen the life, but I can't believe they actually work.

Has anyone ever used one of these, and would you like to share your thoughts on it?

since I've only had a smart phone for a week, I've hardly tried any apps... but the battery seems to hold its charge a lot better than I'd anticipated, especially with GPS tracking on throughout yesterday's ride. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

A waste of time overall, and likely any ads in the free ones will sap the battery more!!!

Switching to 2G has the best bang for bucks.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
They don't work. Don't bother with them. If anything they themselves drain the battery. They are waste of space.

Having your blue tooth on saps the battery as well. Always close as many applications as you can. This will save your battery

All the apps do is turn off things that you could manually turn off anyway. The best thing I have for making sure I don't run out of charge is a external battery charger. I have the anker 10,000mAh model with two usb points, one for android and one for apple and it fits perfectly in the main compartment of http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EDTUAAO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it will do about 4 full charges of a phone and can itself be charged either from the wall or a PC overnight. .

Agree with what the others have said, don't bother with any battery saving app, use androids own power management setting, run task manager and kill any programs running in the back ground, and a good one is to knock down the brightness of the screen a little.

I also have a app called clean master, which does a good job of deleting all the junk files, and from that program you can disable of lot on apps you will never use (you can' delete them as they are factory installed, but disabling them saves power)

I have clean master as well. It's excellent. I use it all the time.
