A feature length episode!
Can’t wait to see the Communist propaganda film crew recording the victories of the proletariat against the bourgeoisie.

I was rather taken by that idea, so I uploaded a photo of one of the races on an AI editor and told it to make it look like a 1930's socialist propaganda poster. It came up with this:

That thing called "real life" is getting in the way again. Currently, I have time to make stuff, but not always to post about it.

I didn't want to give up on the Ascension Island government office: the original is a somewhat iconic building so it helps to set the scene. It turns out that if you think ahead, you make more progress...

Of course, that meant I had to tackle the frankly unnecessarily complicated roof...

...which I managed after a certain a mount of swearing and remaking of awkwardly shaped sections.

Apart from the colours, the corrugated roof is the same as on the original; it’s not just because I couldn’t be bothered making more tiles. I suppose that in somewhere as remote as Ascension there’s only so much money even for prestigious government buildings.

I on the other hand use only the best of premium model making materials...

Fifteen attempts later, the Ascension seat of government is now roughly the correct colour. Getting the prototypical shade of beige-pink on the quoins was quite the battle, I can tell you…

Next step is the details, like a sign, possibly some drainpipes, and the general muckiness that seems to pervade everything on my version of Ascension.

Life is intervening, again, so model making projects are being kept short and simple. This seems a good time to make some extra checkpoints for “The Races”, so that I can have a slightly longer race with Beautiful Daughter.

You got any jobsworths for the checkpoints? Someone needs to stamp the timing cards whenever a competitor goes through the control. You could have sneaky "passage controls" where if they're missed, competitors get a time penalty LOL!
