A "whisk" has little to do with actual rain, but the word connects through a musical instrument called a rainstick (or rainmaker), which creates rain-like sounds, and a modern term, "Wet Weather Whisk," referring to rain sounds on streaming services, both mimicking rain's gentle patter, similar to how a whisk mixes or whips things, just in a sound-effect way.
