My Passat warms up real quick and gets very warm/hot in the cabin, the aircon is woeful though, despite being serviced. Only fault I can find with the car.

Somebody at Volkswagen agreed with me about that and explained that for the UK market the AC does not have the same capacity as for "export" markets. It is only just adequate.

Richard A Thackeray's Land Rover, out shopping yesterday:

Almost, but it was in 'plain clothes'

That said, I could really go for a 101FC:okay:
the claimed 134.5 mpg for the BMW i8 would be the dogs danglies, but the 30 something mpg that was achieved in the program was just utter bollocks.
What a con these claimed fuel efficiency figures are.

Thought this weeks programme was poor, (the bmw whitby one), hope we get back to the usual nonsense tonight.
You are right about the figures I often do better with my VW.

Are they measured the same way, for a Hybrid, as a usual 4-stroke engine, be it petrol, or diesel

Surely the officially measured figures are just as a comparison, the real world alters them substantially

What I find really frustrating is that where I work currently (and not for much longer), there are several Pinarello bikes hung from walls and ceilings. These are all ex team bikes (Sky team) and are lovely but I think they are being wasted - they should be being used.
On the subject of Top Gear if you watch it as an entertainment programme only, and not as serious motoring journalism, it makes sense and can be entertaining in places.
Oh and I am the Stig!

Not knowing much about cars, I didn't get the Peugeot jokes from last week. Olly Murs does my head in too. A rare swingannamiss from the show for me.

I got the Peugeot joke. Then it went on, and on, and on, and on, and on....

TG's run out of ideas. If it wasn't making so much money overseas, they'd take it round back o' the cowshed & smack it over the head with a shovel.
