I've pre-ordered mine too.

I absolutely don't need one though.

What I'd like to do is fashion some kind of dock on the front of one of the high kitchen cupboards and then it would be really easy to use for recipes.

Have you been following Asus on fb? They seem to be getting a really hard time over the GPS problems so they removed it from the spec list lol and they're also releasing a bootloader unlocker so people can root their devices. They're really good for releasing updates but seems like they rushed this one out according to the reports on there. I'd still happily buy one if the GPS is the only issue as would have no intention of using a tablet with GPS and have yet to use my original Transformer's GPS. Now hopefully ICS for the TF101 will be released soon once out on the Prime ^_^

I've been watching the reports and to be perfectly honest none of the issues have worried me in the slightest, lets put that in perspective:
Not bothered about bootloader (my nexus s was unlocked and been running custom for an age, with ICS I went back to stock..), google movies I couldn't care about either way!
GPS - have my phone which is a much more useful portable gps, no way I want to be driving (car has gps) using the TFP and walking with it just screams "mug me" in London.

Issue I have had, is the screen went blank and would not come back on. It's happened twice so far and I'm fairly certain it has something to do with either dock or power connection. To "fix" hold power button for 30 seconds then reboot..

I've now got a wireless router so I've started using my laptop again when in rooms other than my attic office. I bought the laptop (a Dell D430) just before netbooks became popular and it was the smallest, lightest machine that I could afford at the time (12" widescreen, 1.5 kg). It has a very good keyboard and trackpad. I'd still like an Android tablet, but there are lots of other things higher on my list of priorities.

What I am annoyed about though, is the fact that the laptop battery seems to be dying on me - it only lasts about 75 minutes between charges now. It will soon be time to buy a new one.

I've downloaded the Android development system and various software tools - there's a lot to get my head round, but I'm going to have a go at app development once I have got to grips with it. Perhaps a cheapish Android phone would make more sense for me than a tablet. (I'll want to check how easy those apps are to use on a small, low resolution touchscreen.)
