I've got an SMP Hybrid but it's too wide around the inner thighs for me. I did see yesterday that ChainReactionCycles has just started stocking ISM saddles here. They seem to be following a similar idea. I am tempted by the PN1.1 which, apparently is fairly narrow.

I went from a Extra to a 209 and its slightly narrower in the nose...

Which does not necessarily back up your claim of 'SMP's are the most ergonomic saddle around...' Plenty of other manufacturers have channels and claim to be ergonomic. In fact find me one that does not claim to be ergonomic. Saying 'SMP's are the most ergonomic saddle around...' is a bit like Hush Puppies claiming to have the most comfortable shoes when they are just one manufacturer of comfortable shoes/

I have one (an extra) on the MTB I keep in Wales.
I have one of almost every saddle ever made tho so shouldn't read too much into that.

If he were to wear padded shorts rather than riding naked, he might find other saddles more comfortable too

Useful to know, thanks. The catalogue says the hybrid is the same shape as the extra so the 209 might be a better fit for me.
