Get with the programme. You don't see me telling anyone to stop using their electric car, so why the ridiculous remark?

Read my final paragraph again. I have an electric car.

I wasn't pointing the statement at you, it was general observation 😁

Then why quote me?

I've lived in urban towns, cities and small hamlet last for nearly 20 years. We did use bicycles quite alot, the kids cycled to local primary. Now they are nearly all grown up we decided that we wanted a more rural setting so have moved to a farm. Our nearest village is 3-4 miles away. We cycle there regularly. Nearest town 9 miles and do go there sometime via bike, but usually use our EVs to shop there. Nearest city 18 miles away which we normally drive, but don't often visit.

This is a cycling forum so it should go without saying that there is a higher number of people on here who will (or can) cycle.

Also you have intimated that you are loaded, and I assume fairly young and healthy, so you have a lot more choices of where to live and what mode of transport to use.

There is far too much of people (not necessarily you) saying "this is what works for me, so why not for everybody".

Perhaps in the future we will have better public transport with increased usage.

Ha ! In this country public transport will need to drastically improve ! It should be a public utility not a private entity that must make a profit for shareholders ! Any way this is NACA territory but grinds my gears somewhat , especially when they bang on about green this and that and ULEZ . It’s stealth taxation .

indeed it was my main mode of transport for a decade , but I ain’t getting any younger and it adds over 2hrs to my commute every day . Reason I did the cycle was because public transports was that poor and unreliable!

If he'd used the navigation it would have told him exactly where to charge to avoid that silly video clip

If it's anything like the UK the navigation will take him to 4 garages that are now closed and selling caravans !!! Ashbourne !

Don't forget Cardiff Council using diesel Gensets to charge their electric bin lorry fleet, or a major UK rail operator using a huge Cummins GenSet to charge its "green" battery trains ...... ....

You can't make these things up. When I ordered my first electric car. The dealer rang me up to say it was ready to collect. I told him part of my deal was to have my home charger installed before I collected my car. A week later I collected my car after the charger was fitted and working

German car makers have been told to up their game, reduce prices against rampant competition from China.

VW announced laying off production workers due to less demand

Hello decadence
In 4 years of owning an EV, I've yet to run below 12% battery and have always found a working charger - sometimes I have had to go for my second choice of charge station. Although I do have 'charge anxiety' - the reality is that it has not caused a real problem. Yes, we can always find example of where a council or corporation have (temporarily) used diesel driven chargers but that is the minority. Still it cheers up the sceptics and gives them something to poke fun at........so perhaps these councils are doing a public service.

Most hospitals have at least one or more gensets standing on standby at all times just in case the grid goes down

Even the bank I used to work in had a generator in case of grid failure.
We had to test it regularly.
Probably been replaced by batteries now.
