I suspect her opinion of you has taken a dive then. For what its worth and I suspect that is very little you have missed a good opertunity, as long as the teacher did not have any details about you, address, home phone number etc you had little chance of being discovered.

Then again I would not put myself up as anyones roll model.

Is this a men's forum?

You're simply wrong, by the way. A moment's thought about the subject would tell you as much.
No it is not a mens forum but I suspect the majority are men however I was suggesting the overwhelming view on a femail forum such as mumsnet would be against affairs.

You say I am wrong indeed I may well be but will you please tell me how you come to that conclusion.

The way you present on here isn't typical of any woman I've ever known. I actually thought you were a bloke for the first few months after you registered on C+, so I'd say that PS is wrong in this respect when addressing you - typical mumsnet poster you aren't.

It's not rocket science. In Crockers' story he was propositioned by a woman. To have an affair. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Mumsnet (although you seem to be), but I don't see why it should represent women in general.

All this should probably tell you is that what you think you know about women might not be true after all...

So if one woman is up for an affair this disproves my supposition that the majority of women are against affairs, that is a long stretch.

As for the mumsnet thing they have a lively political forum which my partner sometimes contributes to and from that point I have perused other parts of the site, the relationship forum is an eyeopener.

Has anyone ever been in the situation of being involved in some social group or organization, and feeling an attraction for someone else within that organization, asked them out on a date and got turned down? If so, did that person feel awkward/uncomfortable in your company afterward whenever you saw them again? Is there a way around this, or is it an inevitable risk that one has to take if one wishes to date the opposite sex?

Yes. But I was the one who was doing the turning down.
He should have started by asking to go for a coffee!
