Don't give me that attitude. I haven't been rude to you or anyone else in this post. I was just stating that it would be great to have.
Calm yourself down OK
You asked, so I explained.

- Claim made
- Claim refuted
- A lot of crud that you can scroll past
- More chatter
- Harsher claim made
- The fun bits where people start getting personal while claiming they're not getting personal
- The even more fun bits where the people who say they won't be provoked say so by reacting in a provoked manner
- Someone makes an inappropriate joke
- More personal bitterness
- Thread gets locked
- Everyone forgets about it and goes back to talking about things vaguely cycle related
Are you psychic?I've had my mind changed on here, on helmets and lights and I've given more thought to when and where to use hi-vis & reflectives.(I've never known anyone to change anyone else's mind, even a bit)
Are you sure about that? I'm not 'an admin' and I found your post #61 pretty rude although, tbh, I thought it showed more about your lack of understanding & awareness than anything.I haven't been rude to you or anyone else in this post.
Yeah i do know about COH but i weaned myself off obsessive playing when i could not log on enough to keep up with "the jonses" and it turned from a game where everyone had a level playing field into phat lewt runs that meant if you could not be on at a certain time , for a certain amount of time no one would team with you .Cancelled my account and got back into cyclingYou do know they're closing down COH, right? So sad!
Big Batman/DC fan, especially with some serious dark artwork (see Jim Lee, Dave McKean, Brian Bollan etc)! Used to have a good collection of graphic novels and a great variety of comics, most of them (as well as almost all my books) I had to leave behind when I moved to England. Keep bringing some back with me every time I visit and slowly building up again, but I have to sneak them in as I get told off (for being immature and not acting my age and that..)

I like it here, most people seem to have a nice and safe attitude and from what I've seen not much moderation is needed (apart from that American chap's thread about being a disabled bike rider not allowed on the pavement, or something). I've been on other sites which seem to be breeding grounds for bullies, trolls and pedantic internet warriors. I guess this place is cool because we all ride bikesI used to post on this site a lot, as I was a cycle commuter. Apart from the odd "I have an expensive bike therefore you are slow and know nothing" comment, I found most poeple to be friendly and helpful.
Then i got a motorbike (I was sick of being close-passed every day and nearly getitng knocked off). I joined a motorbike forum and OMG the attitudes of some people are unbelievable. one guy posted a pic of his young daughter sat on his motorbike. Another guy then photoshopped a pic of "Paedo bear" sitting behind her. Some people seem to think that they can post anything on forums and it is "fair game". i know we all leave ourselves open to abuse whenever we post somehting online, but really, is it necessary to wind people up quite so much?! I've made it a resolution of mine to boycott forums now, purely becasue it seems to wind me up rather than make it enjoyable to see other people's opinions on things.
So, what does everyone think of forums in general? Do they need tighter control or is anything fair game when posting online?

I like the pub analogy, there are places where its OK to post family photos and then there are sites where you would be an idiot to do so and plenty of grey inbetween. Even so, putting things online makes them available to the world to view, modify and repost, something which seems to be missed on people posting up awful drunken pics/videos to facebook and equivilents. An innocently posted photo or video can be picked up, sometimes modified and viewed by millions, look at typical MEMEs. Theres also plenty of sites where virtually anything goes, imageboards and such where photoshopping other's photos for humour is commonplace, but despite that the atmosphere and community can be friendly and accepting. I think sometimes people aren't sure where the overlap is, something funny/normal in one community is offensive to another.
It's not vastly different to real life though![]()
