Attitudes on forums

You can can't you? If I remember correctly you have to be fairly well established on here before you can have a signature. I could be wrong though.
If you go to the bottom of the page in the bottom right corner and check out Terms and Rules, you'll see that you can't have images as a signature. It sucks. I also had an admin called "Pandora" saying that I can't have a coloured font. My signature was originally red and it was fine for ages; no other admin had a problem, then this admin who has only been an admin since Monday this week, decides to remove it. The rules are quite hard to understand and should be more specific.
Well I diagree. They tend to take up a lot of space and some of them can be a bit <ahem> garish! Unless there was an option to block them I'd probably be happier to keep things as they are, to be honest.
I don't mean a huge banner, I mean a very small one like the height of this text and no longer than a certain width. They were amazing back in the day and people really expressed themselves through them.

I've posted on a few fora in my days and have slowly eroded the list down to little old CC. Its friendly helpful and feels the right size to be really inclusive.

I was once a member on visordown Motorcycle forum but found so many of the members to be obsessed with speed and power and ego that I just got totally bored with it.

that said, If ever I want to make a major purchase i register with the relevant forum for inside info.

I used to post on this site a lot, as I was a cycle commuter. Apart from the odd "I have an expensive bike therefore you are slow and know nothing" comment, I found most poeple to be friendly and helpful.

Then i got a motorbike (I was sick of being close-passed every day and nearly getitng knocked off). I joined a motorbike forum and OMG the attitudes of some people are unbelievable. one guy posted a pic of his young daughter sat on his motorbike. Another guy then photoshopped a pic of "Paedo bear" sitting behind her. Some people seem to think that they can post anything on forums and it is "fair game". i know we all leave ourselves open to abuse whenever we post somehting online, but really, is it necessary to wind people up quite so much?! I've made it a resolution of mine to boycott forums now, purely becasue it seems to wind me up rather than make it enjoyable to see other people's opinions on things.

So, what does everyone think of forums in general? Do they need tighter control or is anything fair game when posting online?

Admin's already said you can't and it's his gaff and his rules.
It's actually Shaun's gaff.

There is an option to turn signatures off

It's quite simple.
You are new to the forum so you are still learning at how things work on here & who's who.

As some one has pointed out to you previous.
It's Shauns/Admin's forum.
What he say's go's. You play by his rules (which he can change at anytime if he wishes) or you play elsewhere.
You get my drift?

Don't give me that attitude. I haven't been rude to you or anyone else in this post. I was just stating that it would be great to have.
