Baskets to fit Raleigh bracket

I'm looking for a basket to fit onto the Raleigh Caprice bracket, I bought a wire mesh one from Wilkinsons, but it didn't fit.

Any ideas?

Other than that it's a trip to a recycling project to find the original Raleigh basket.

Basket needs to be removed to go round the shops, so cable ties wouldn't be ideal.

I'm sure there's a basket out there that will fit, just needs two hooks that fit over the bracket, there are a couple of original ones on fleabay but they're over £20 !! Bike only cost £56

Seems crazy that Raleigh went to all that trouble to engineer a welded bracket for it to only fit their baskets.

The Wilko one hooked on OK, but was too deep and rubbed the front mudguard.

Anyhow £5 basket from TK Maxx and three zip ties later

There are a number of shops selling the basket, so it should be sourcable a quick call should confirm whether the fitting is correct

The other option depends on the size of the basket frame.

The quick and simple solution would be a length of metal plate sandwiching the basket and then fitting a pair of pannier clips

The basket can then be simply removed and secured safely when riding.

These from St John Street may work depending on the tubing size
