Nearly four hours later, it was calm enough to open cautiously.😉 Nice, but why's it a pale colour and not dark, like you'd expect a stout to be?🤔

White stouts were a bit of a fad a while back, but given it's a white chocolate stout I guess they thought they'd bring it back ?

I often find black lagers/IPAs and white stouts really disappointing, as there's a disconnect between what the eye sees and the tongue tastes. I had a whisky that was aged in a charred barrel as well once, which was disappointingly thin and weedy while it's dark colour suggested depth and warmth
