That does look good. Now the weather has turned I think it is the perfect time to have a go at this.

First time in Morrison's for quite a while, and I came out with four new ones which I'll be starting on tonight.

Right then, it's review time.

Arbor - so opaque you could stand a spoon up in it, not to my personal taste
Brewdog - generic west coast, very average
Canal Chase - the pick of the bunch and the only one I'd buy again
Castle Rock - another beer that suffers from an overdose of oats, leaving me with a dry throat

Wandered in to Asda earlier and noticed they were doing Duvel and a selection of other Belgian beers for around £2.30 a bottle which seemed pretty decent to me so bought a couple.

Returned to my local craft beer establishment for some further Westmalle investigation. They still had the dubbel on draft but decided to try it from the bottle. Definitely different to the draft but both exceptional.

Have returned home with a bottle of the trippel. Just building myself up to opening it - the ABV definitely requires a bit of caution.

I like both but I like the Trippel more. I like trippels generally. But as you say, treat them with caution as despite the delicious taste each glass nearly has the alcohol of a half bottle of wine !

I like St Stephanos, Karmelite, and Kasteel tripels even more

Good to hear - one of my buys from Asda today is a Kasteel Rouge. Had never heard of it.

I don't like the rouge at all and I'm not fond of any of the fruit beers I've tried.

I wouldn't normally go for a cherry beer but quite enjoyed it. Am going to go back at lunchtime and get some others. They had quite a few different ones including several Kasteel all for just over £2 a bottle.

Nah - can;t cope with beer with ruit in it

just seems against the rules of the Universe!

also - need Gluten Free beer nowadays which restricts things a lot
I keep seeing things showing some great looking ones - but only availabe in small areas down southe!!

£2 a bottle is exceptionally good. Get stocked up on the trippel which is fantastic

I bought this tonight from Tesco. White chocolate and raspberry stout at 6.6% volume. I won't be having it tonight though as it's just tumbled down my stairs on taking it out of my shopping bag. If I were to open it tonight half of it would end up on my kitchen floor! 😏

Nearly four hours later, it was calm enough to open cautiously.😉 Nice, but why's it a pale colour and not dark, like you'd expect a stout to be?🤔
