Anything powered by a dynamo.

I use my dyno lights on overcast days, no reason not to - and it might have prevented someone pulling out in front of me.

The same one that motorcyclists are trying to solve - myopic car drivers.
Doesn't work for bikers - won't work for cyclists [I speak from both camps]. Personally I like a good rear lamp - the idiots in front I can see, it's the ones behind I worry about.

I've never used a front light on a road bike (Except at night, obviously), but as I am a raw recruit to a recumbent trike I'd rather have that bit of extra security till at least I know how motorists react to one that is approaching.

Depends on what weather/lighting conditions you're planning to use it for.
