Best grease to use for hubs/pedals etc

Hey,

Been googling to no avail - what's the best thing to use for clipless pedals/cleats/hubs/anything else that needs doing?

Some have said white lithium (whatever that is!) and others have said not to use that.

Help!

And these just go in and you forget about them, or do you have to regrease as often as you relube a chain? (for me, that's every bloody ride with the crap on the roads where I live!).

I understood the point of lithium-based grease is its high melting point.

It would do the job well enough, but I think you'd be paying for a property you don't need, certainly in cleats and pedals.

And I doubt a bike hub gets very hot, either.

LM grease is fine. Moly grease is better as it had a chemical affinity to steel so forms a more durable coating.

any grease will do - although why on earth you would need to grease your cleats is beyond me....

Just a dap on the thread before fitting the pedals etc, fit and forget

I use Castrol Lithium grease, because that's what I have in the garage. When that runs out I'll be using the unknown black Castrol grease that's in the tub underneath it.
