The plus side of the ones that convert to mini track pumps (like the Morph) is that you are pressing towards the ground rather than holding the pump with the other hand.

The CO2 myth about leakage was challenged by a scientist friend, who googled it only to find it was true. I have certaninly noticed it.

Re the disadvantages, the only major one I can see is the envriomental one of tossing bottles, and the cost of producing them etc

Lezyne Road Drive. It's got a flexible hose! Fixed head pumps are the spawn of the Devil.....unless you have some kind of pervy broken valve fetish..

True, but with an important caveat: with some tubes (Continental, I'm looking at you), the valve cores can unscrew as you undo the hose. Said valve core is then ejected at 100psi, never to be seen again. There is a reason I know this...

I know that one but do not see it as a disadvantage, I check and pump my tyres before every ride, so it would not be an extra chore.

Just got a Road Morph used for first time today, Very nice and much easier than the Aldi track pump I have been using at home for years.
