blimy..must have missed those roads on le jog...the Scottish road surfaces were appallingly bumpy!
Best roads ever for me.....America.....followed by Cyprus...then France...
In America, good roads usually mean you are going to encounter traffic soon. But even country lanes are good, well maintained, often of oil and gravel, sometimes just crushed limestone gravel . Because of agricultural production, most everyplace needs a good road just for moving the agribusiness.
This is oil and gravel, lightly salted with some fresh chiprock (crushed limestone)
And this is just crushed limestone, hard on thin tires. This is a very rural road, and is only like this for about a mile. Some roads are still dirt as well. Try and get some pictures of those, as well as the sign saying "Dirt Road"
