Best specced/fastest road Flat bar?

Anyone know a good flat bar with good fast road spec that is under £1k.

Thinking the Cannondale Synapse...any views?

I have a Scott Speedster S30 FB which is pretty quick. Retails at a little under £1k. Didn't know they did the Synapse with a flat bar?

fastest is going to be down to weight, tyres and gears. your average biggest front chain ring will be 50 on hybrids and your smallest rear will be 12. that is ultimately going to limit your speed, and obviously changing the tyres to lower rolling resistance will make it easier to keep up speed.

A bike is only as fast as you can pedal .

Small differences between similar makes and models will be insignificant compared to reducing your weight and increasing your core and leg strength, and stamina.

Exactly what do you mean by a hybrid? Probably the fastest hybrids are just road bikes with flat handle bars. But with that said the biggest difference to the bike will be you. I mean the difference between me riding a medium weight hardtail MTB with semi-slicks with a fixed 75" gear & a x-cross bike that's basically a long & stiff racing bike is around 3/5th of nothing in terms of average speed.
