(snipped) I'd been looking for a step through frame also as I just prefer them, don't like having to cock my leg over, especially when I'm wearing a skirt or dress!
I am updating this thread. It has been a long time coming but at long last we found the bike for her that she feels comfortable on. It should be coming tomorrow. The bike is in lovely condition, virtually as new. It is being picked up today by courier (not parcel force as per the listing!) and should be with us tomorrow.
She seems to have reached a plateau (can you have plateaus going down?) and hasn't lost a great deal more. The good thing is she is staying fairly constant and not putting weight on again. Hopefully we can get her out a bit more on her new bike and that may just help kick start things again for her.

Yes you can plateau then suddenly start again I have gone fom 20 to 14 stone in 2 years I know 14 sounds a lot but my body fat is only 15% muscle being heavier than fat I had a couple of plateaus. If she is still excerising on a regular basis try the same daily calorie intake but over 6 meals some may be a snack of an apple etc. the theory is it takes your body out of starvation mode and stops it storing fat as an emergency measure
Some years ago Mrs Byegad, 5' 0.25" tall???, was in the same position and ended up with a Dawes Discovery 201. As we bought it when out shopping for something else, I rode it some 12 miles home and was pleasantly surprised at how well it went compared to my Thorn Club Tour.
