Not sure what's being served in the centre......, but just about anything you fancy at the Bean Tin.
We call it the Bog Roll, tbh. Nice cafeteria tho.
Join Sharky for a slow ride, and it is slow. The Cheadle bit to Uni's takes me no more than 20 minutes maximum....on the BTW it takes oh...40.........but we do find some nice scenic back roads, which I never knew were there....
Yeah - must try & remember the route this time

The point is to potter in with people new to it, not to form an impromptu chain gang  Treat it as a recovery ride...

I'll have to check the calendar, I'll be willing to make a pretty big detour on my commute if it'll mean a free breakfast.

And a second breakfast at that. I'm already getting hungry just thinking about it even though I've just eaten some scrambled eggs.

Check the event calendar on the Bike week website- there's bound to be a free breakfast for you somewhere.

Looks like I'll be diverting my commute through St Albans to get mine.

I may have no free brekkie and t shirts but...

My status has just moved to JUNIOR MEMBER!!!!!!!

:laugh:Yay!!!!!;)

I believe the young folk nowadays say, Ding!

But remember, it's quality, not quantity.

That's something we all forget.

Well to celebrate my ding moment.
Some (hopefully) quality words on the benifits of cycling to work...

I used to cycle from fulham to soho back in the late 80's and early 90's
Then after 5 years in Brighton moved back and started cycling regularly just before christmas 2008.
I have biked in everyday apart from snowday ( when I walked in )
It's not the longest commute in the world, about 3.5 miles each way, From islington to soho.

But, I love it!!!!!
It takes 15 minutes each way and saves my £40 a month.
I don't have to deal with horrid little asbo b*stards on the bus and know I'll be home 15 mins after I leave work.
Plus, I am getting fitter!!!!!
I never weighed myself before but I have moved 3 holes on my belt!!!!

So to sum up, if you cycle to work this week keep going!!! It's so worth it, rain or shine!!!

Oh and by the way.....
DING!!!!!!!

Hopefully there will be a few converts. Especially if they're getting half decent advice at the start with a Dr Bike service

I think there is something happening in Norwich this week for National Bike week, there is a free breakfast at the forum at 7:30am on Wednesday for people who cycle to work. Today near the chapelfield shopping mall you can get your bike checked and also security stamped as well.

Our work aren't providing any real incentives, but we have a mini challenge between staff to see who can clock up the most miles in the week cycling to work and also a challenge on who can get sponsored the most for cycling in.

The managing director is up for it, he prob hasn't cycled in about 10 odd years and its about a 15 mile round trip, there are about 4-5 out of 45 who are up for it.

I am getting back in the saddle after dislocating my knee and tearing ligaments about 5-6 weeks ago so we will see if I survive!!

Spent a few hours today servicing the hubs and derailleurs and cleaning up the bike.

Hopefully the weather will be ok for most of the week.

Peterborough has a whole host of events going on. Free Breakfast for cyclists at the Cornish Pasty Company...even my work is offering a full free English, pity I'll have to cycle an extra 10 miles to get it...
