Mountain Bike Mud Tyres

These are another tyre that I've been very impressed with. Down here in deepest Kent, we do get a lot of mud on the trails.
Nasty, gloopy stuff that most tyres struggle on.

Not these babies though, they have a slim profile and quite crude looking, off-road motorbike style, widely spaced square knobbles.
The narrow profile means that they cut straight through the gloop whilst the knobbles seem to find traction on anything under it.
I haven't found anything that performs better on mud.

Downsides:

Well, they're mud tyres and they don't fare so well on any other surface.
They're quite grippy, but wear very quickly on hard surfaces and their narrow profile means that pinch punctures are a real threat on rock.
They're perfectly rideable on tarmac, but I try and avoid this as much as possible due to the rapid wear and squirmy feel.
I only run these tyres in the Winter and remove them once the trails dry out (hopefully) in the Spring.

If you're struggling with muddy conditions and want traction on the gloopiest of trails, I can highly recommend these tyres.
