Recliner to Recumbent should bring in a few beardies.

Hey I resemble that remark. Without the beard, though I am using my SPD sandals at the moment.

Settee for me. That probably makes me posh. Or common. One or the other.

It was always referred to as the settee when i was growing up, but I probably use sofa more now. I'm not sure one is posher that the other. Settee probably a more old fashioned word. A setl was a wooden bench in olde times and became a settee when it got padding!

Can be the first to mention chaise longue on the thread. My gran had one, but she never rode a bike.

"Chaise longue to triathlon" just about scans. But "chaise longue to jog-on" I prefer.

I suspect this is one of those things where there is quite wide regional variation in the normal word to use.

Couch was certainly the normal word in my family when I was growing up, but my wife was always more likely to say sofa. Neither of us have normally used Setteee.

We do also have a chaise longue, not getting much use at the moment, though it was used regularly for a few years.

Settee is a more northern term, but not exclusively so, and refers to the traditional two seater fairly upright almost armchair like jobs.

Hopefully this scheme gets more people cycling who currently drive and perhaps don't currently give cyclists space when overtaking.

It perhaps doesn't help that it's going to be competing through the summer with kids getting free bus use through most of the holidays.
