I thought the Triban comes with a generic Prowheel Ounce chainset?
Yeah it does but from what I understand its a cheap version of the shimano sora one.

Is there a noticeable difference between the stock 12-25 cassette?
Yes don't use granny at all now unless climbing a wall  , and the 11 cog is a lot faster on the flat. Changing is a lot quieter and smoother.
Should've said sora 3500 not tiagra (that a 10)

@jazloc I have just just followed BA's advice and gone with the 11-28 cassette and it is a significant improvement. BA recommended Wiggle where it is £19.99 and I went with the SRAM PC-850 chain as well. Had a touch of a fight getting the chainlink to close but now it is all on, I am more than happy with it! (Also got the Fulcrum racing 7 wheels, only I went with the CX version because of where I live. Loving those as well.)

Hi jaz looks ok. Are you going with a 12-28 or 11-28 cassette ?
With chainset just make sure you get the right crank length, my T3's a 54 and mine was a 170mm length. Not sure if they differ between different sizes (you can find it on the back of the crank). You can try lbs for spacers. I got mine from here http://www.petracycles.co.uk/shimano-spares-fc-5603-spacer-3mm-p-5478.html
That's for the 3mm one and here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/shimano-h...rts_SR&var=&hash=item1e743a03d4#ht_310wt_1255 for the 2.5mm

Woops, I mean 11-28. I'll check the crank arms tonight but I'm fairly confident that they're 170mm. What size of Triban do you have? Maybe they do differ, I don't know. Thanks for the links to the spacers too.

Same as mine, they should be 170mm then.

The Merlin site only has 170-175mm

Right. I ordered a cassette, chain, chainset and jockey wheels tonight. I'm going to take it all to my LBS when it arrives and have them install it, I didn't buy the spacers so I'm hoping that the bike shop will have some.
