Ride It Like You Stole It!

We've quite a group going - bunch of ladies that do wild swimming and 2-3 husbands along for the beer/camp fire. I'll just have to watch out for rabbit holes on the hobble to the loo in the dark ! Need to organise my 'gear' this week. Hoping to take 'less' this time (famous last words).

I went at the weekend to do some declutterring, was quite amazed how much we had accumulated in the last seasons camping…

I think a full emptying session is needed if I’m honest.

Then of course i can fit more bikes inšŸ˜‚

It's a fine balance currently with camping kit and bikes. We usually have a 'who has the latest gadget' ? Mine is a big power bank and a solar panel for off grid, and a toastie pan (double sided frying pan). We have chucked one tent 'Decathlon Base' as it's suffered UV damage over the years and it's been used alot.

Agree, my current issue is that someone in my family keeps buying additional bikes that we ā€œmust takeā€ with us🫢 currently figuring out how the tandem will fit inšŸ¤” looks like a front wheel off job and a fork lock on the floor.

Third trip of the year coming up - five nights in the tent. All the gear has been checked and ready to load - sleeping in the tent, so the van just becomes the luggage carrier and taking a bike and an inflatable Kayak. Stopping ay Llyn Tegid (Bala). Gone for electric hookup this time and will take the kettle, fan heater and griddle plate. Not taking the paddle board as MrsF still wearing a boot (when outside the house) after breaking her foot three weeks ago.

I've got 1 booked, and 2 planned, starting in June. Got a new tent, my first air tent, so hoping it's easier to erect. Sticking with no electric for the first trip away but I suspect that may change, see how we get on.

On the hunt for a nice chemical toilet now, needs to fairly high sitting, possibly get a mini tent for it. Will be an upgrade on the bottle or bucket normally used lol.

I'd like to get a trip in before June though weekends are quickly filling with jobs, think I'll just prepare a quick mini kit and if it looks favourable sling it in the car and get home somewhere.

Scotland (twice) and Wales are the destinations so far.

Porta potti 365 is nearer normal height. Ours is great. We also use Elsan Organic in it as you just need the one fluid.
