I lent one of my favourite t shirts to a girl friend. Her sister borrowed it and was involved in an accident. The hospital had to cut the shirt off her. I was given the t shirt back as rags!
At least it'll be good for cleaning the bike.

My next door neighbour has borrowed numerous things over the twenty years that we've lived here - anything from cufflinks to a lawn mower. He does bring them back when prompted. But I've noticed that when he tries to borrow them again, he always calls them "the cufflinks", "the lawn mower" as if by borrowing them he has partly transferred ownership from me to him

That's clever.

Akron, Ohio's art-punk satirists turn Jagger's cocky machismo inside-out, revealing a black, creepy comedy of geeky male sexual frustration.

Series 1 & 2 of 24 on DVD have not been returned.

Mind you - I have been "borrowing" my friend's rather nice Sunderland golfing windcheater/tanktop for about 10 years now and I acquired a set of Calloway waterproofs somewhere along line - I have no idea where from. I have asked around but no-one claims ownership. My kitchen cupboard's teeming with other people's tuperware.

After 3 or 4 loans, you will have to ask if you can borrow them back!

Various DVDs have been borrowed off me. I've even asked for them back weeks later and they keep saying they havent finished watching them, so it drags on and on and on...

My R6 I lent to my then girlfriend whilst I was overseas, she sold it with my permission and I said she could borrow some of the money to pay off a debt. I knew she wasn't great with money so didn't pester her too much when I got home.

I then went to Germany for a few weeks and met somebody else. Never saw the money again.
