Not been much activity in this thread recently ... let's see some posts for 2026.

@a.twiddler - you certainly did ride your age a few days ago (a lot more than your age, unless you're a centenarian ...).

@teeonethousand ... you and I are the only over-70s to have cycled our age this year (I think).

😁😁 It's my birthday month so I thought I would get it in while I could ....I tacked 6 extra miles into a trip into the dales . Fingers crossed for next year.

I did 76.63 miles on 8/7/ 26 I was 71 on 9/6/26. I have struggled to the rides in this mainly doing between 60 and 70 miles and I now have possibly a rear shoulder disorder. Plus a daughter who bought house 5 hours drive a way which Mrs W insists on visiting for log periods. I’m hoping get back on it shortly.

I rather hope so, as that is the plan for Sunday.

Later in the year I'm supposed to be doing twice my age in miles and then some more, I'm not so keen on that Idea.

In the end I did just a smidge shy of double my age, 108 miles. I hope I'll be good to keep riding at least my age for a few years yet

I can confirm that I'm a septuagenerian and rode more than my age on 9/7/26 (79 miles) and 19/7/26 (110 miles). Now that I'm getting warmed up to it I hope to do some more before the nights start drawing in. The 110 miler is the furthest I've gone this century, and last year a did a century (the first this century). I haven't ridden that sort of mileage since the 1980s. I put it down to recumbentitis. I'm not getting any faster, quite the opposite, but as long as I start early enough I can keep going on into the night.

I'm only a youngster at 65 so usually do a few rides over that a year. Longest this year so far is 104 miles.

This year my longest ride is 260 miles, next longest 217 miles, then 207 miles. Just coming up for my 200th birthday.

I've ridden my age (54) in kilometres a few times this year, but not in miles yet. I need to try at least once before the end of the summer.

I'm over 70 and have cycled my age this year.


To maximise the enjoyment I spread it over a week.
