Is that a Firenza ?[/QUOTE
Is that a Firenza ?
It certainly is, essentially a Viva with a 2dr body the droop snoot were the ones to have

Car design seems to pay no attention to maximising space efficiency, mac interior volume for min exterior footprint with a few exceptions in urban mini cars such as VW UP which reminds me of the 1970s

Have to say I'm not so sure. I'd say most modern cars are indistinguishably bland - but many from the 60s/70s were unspeakably hideous. Truly fugly cars have pretty much disappeared.
It takes nerve to be "ugly" though.
The beetle could be said to be ugly but became an icon.
SAABs had a look of their own.
I always rather liked the old Czech Skodas - heir to an original design heritage that produced a wondrous Czech car from the 50s I forget the name of - saw one in the street in Communist Prague once.

Damned right!!

I believe it's still the only car, even though it was a 1/2 (or 1/3rd) scale model, to be exhibited in the Louvre
Industrial Design exhibition, in early 70s

I remember as a small kid in the early '70s being total amazed and obsessed by them, I even had the Corgi Police Range Rover.

I'm impressed, the two James Taylor books look excellent, although my girlfriend would describe them as porn.

I had a Princess ^_^

I remember my boss having one that was unreliable to say the least.

One morning he arrived late, shirt covered in oil. He said the engine had cut out, he opened the bonnet and oil squirted over him.

He was furious, got the number for British Leyland HQ, rang it and asked to speak to the Managing Director. I can still remember the look on his face when a voice came from the speaker phone, “Michael Edwardes here, can I help you?”

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...

Living the dream here. The two best ways to spend a sunny day, either cycling or tinkering with an old Land Rover....
