From Abergavenny ? Ouch ! That'd be an almighty ride and (realistically) too far for me, so I'll opt out now, before I talk myself into doing something that I'd regret; but hopefully, I'll be able to meet you guys on a later ride.

Oh don't talk nonsense. It's a lovely gentle climb, except for a nasty little kick just where some bastard put a cattle grid near the top. You'll be a big wuss on the descent, natch, but they're quite sympathetic to that in the Racing bit of the forum these days, as long as you are sufficiently French.

So on a like-for-like reference-per-post basis, TC is much less obsessed. Besides, TC does more than just stalk - she actually talks. Try moving a consonant and see where it gets you.

I'm thinking of adopting this as a strapline...

I think TC has a mind to do the full length of gospel in the opposite direction. Pub stops ? Have you not been on one of TC s rides lol

Pubs tend to stop me being arsed to go up any more hills, so they belong in the latter stages of long rides. I have an epic pub crawl in my head, but have never managed to complete the recce ride. Or if I did, I don't remember it.

Yebbut, I'm wondering if you can count ?

Pubby - 6 pages of direct references to SRW . . . . . . . by comparison, you have 11 - so nearly twice as many.

Pubby - 5 pages of direct references to Dell . . . . . . . by comparison, you have . . . 31 !!!

I obviously go for quality over quantity  .

That's shameless favouritism for you. What's your excuse?

Please try and remember! Epic pub crawls are right up my street but don't let on to Rich ^_^

Oy, do you mind ! I'm not Welsh & I don't speak any Welsh. In fact, I don't even live in Wales - we're a couple of hundred yards from the border.

We left the pub a few years ago

. . . . . . when I met my better half, she told me that she didn't want to live in the pub (or any other pub for that matter ^_^ ) and that it was time that I 'grew up', became 'respectable' and to 'settled down' . . . . . . . she's still working on the first two ^_^.

I now live in a normal house, which seems small, after having all the space of the pub. Still, I've got enough room to let you & Dell stay, if you ever get up these parts - west of Oswestry, not far from the Berwyns . . . . . . . and sadly, a considerable distance from TC's proposed ride - about 2.5 hour drive.

I organised a ride from these parts last year; I'm tempted to do another one, but all the likely candidates, seem to have 'gone quiet'. To be fair, there are very few forum members in these parts. My first Cyclechat ride was in Yorkshire - organised by ColinJ - it was brilliant ! And they were a really 'sound' bunch of guys - even if they were more accomplished cyclists than me. It'd be great if the likes of @ColinJ, @colly etc could make it down here, but they'd be looking at a drive of about 2.5 hours. Ditto, the same for the likes of lukesdad, Banjo & TC in south Wales. If Rich P were to drive up from Brighton, I reckon it'd be close to 250 miles - probably, a 4 hour drive.

Oh yes, TC could tell you, the trains aren't good in these parts.

Despite the difficulties, I'd like to organise a ride locally, where the guys from Yorkshire, could meet up with those from south Wales; we'd even encourage riders from Londonshire. Sadly, lukesdad is 'out' until September and the legend that is ColinJ, is carefully working his way back to full fitness.

Sadly, the leg end that is ColinJ's is once again full of clots!

Sunday is the first anniversary of my most recent forum ride (to Otley). I became ill shortly after that. Doesn't time fly when you are not enjoying yourself!

Only if @Cheshire Celt turns up. If anyone else brings it, apart from the other Scottish nobber (@Noodley) it's called 'fudge'.

Anyhow, what's happened to the Celt ? Has someone upset him ? (I don't recall having done so, but one never knows ^_^ - some hyper-sensitive people on this forum . . . . . . . I wouldn't jest about bunging him down a mine shaft  )

He was a frequent visitor and contributor, to this section of the forum. Perhaps he's bought a motorbike instead. ^_^

Not exactly forgotten, but I've been busy and it's just one of gazillions of things I haven't sorted. I fancy the Gospel Pass. August looks pretty chocka, so I'll see if I can make any sense of September...

Me too!
Have we got a date, yet, peeps? I have read all the posts but want to make sure I've not missed anything!
Nope. If it has to be a Saturday, the 21st or 28th Sept don't look altogether impossible. However, what would be ideal for me is to take a Friday off work, in which case my preference would be for 20 Sept. But I don't suppose that's an option for everyone?
