Nope. If it has to be a Saturday, the 21st or 28th Sept don't look altogether impossible. However, what would be ideal for me is to take a Friday off work, in which case my preference would be for 20 Sept. But I don't suppose that's an option for everyone?
It works for me TC

Well, if they catch you, that'll pretty much f**k up the 20th as well.

Can't do either of them, September is full but don't work it around me as it's a long way for me to go, so wasn't sure if I was going to do it this time.

Gospel Pass.....hmmm....Friday not good for me, but I'll see what I can do. Last time (August 2009) I was in much weaker shape (though I got up it, honestly can't remember if there was any walking) and I ended up losing an argument with that cattle grid on the descent.
How will this work in terms of travel? What time do we start on Friday and where...and do I need to stay the Thursday night etc. And I'm not bringing prosecco for R's b'day.
Blimey - keen! You're way ahead of me - I haven't much of a clue. Ideal start in terms of the ride would be Abergavenny, but I'll have to look at the logistics. Newport is a possibility. And yes an early start would be good so getting yourself Walesward on Thursday night would make sense. Rich's birthday is a nice idea but is slightly trickier for me than the previous week. But I can probably get away with it. We need a bit more feedback from other peeps. @lukesdad? @Banjo? @pubrunner? @User13710? @Cheshire Celt? @Doseone? @HLaB? @User482? @515mm?

Excellent. 27th looks ok for me, and I would much prefer to start from Newport, as it's on the main line - I guess it would be the same for anyone not staying over. Or I'll cycle if I'm feeling enthusiastic - but I guess that would be a very early start? It's about 2.5 hours from Bristol.

Really sorry @theclaud - At the moment I can't take time off that week, I've already got someone away in the office. If it gets close to the time and the friday is looking quiet I may be able to do something last minute, but I won't know that until almost the day before. I will try, I really will.

At the moment September is 27th is ok for me. Seems unusual using a weekday but if it works for enough people why not. The Gospel Pass and other back roads will be quieter on a weekday.

I'm potentially available either date but don't for one second plan this around my birthday. I celebrate them less and less as I have fewer to look forward to.
I have nothing immutable planned in late September and I'm flexible enough to do weekdays or weekends.
