Popped ours on this evening just to make sure it all works as we’ve had a seized pump in the past due to lack of use over the summer. Apart the smell of burning dust all seems to be OK.

Heating was on for 15 hours and 55 minutes in March then been off since.

Currently 21 degrees in the living room and the bathroom, and 19 in the bedroom. Don’t anticipate in going on for at least another month.

You must experience a similar climate to me. What elements of your home do you attribute to it
a) gaining heat , temperatures haven’t been above 16C for days and certainly, where I live, very little solar gain. It was 7C this morning.
b) holding the heat, Are you insulated to the hilt?

Mostly b) with a small element of a). Home is well insulated but also gains through radiant heat when the sun out due to direction windows face.

I gave in and put the fire on for a couple of hours this evening. In my defence, I did need to check to see if the water was circulating properly in the back boiler and radiators, but it sure took the edge off the dampness.

Another one in T-short & shorts this morning; my lounge is 22 degrees.
Will hope to leave the CH off for a couple more months, unless we have a cold snap.

But not yet; I didn't even need a duvet last night.

Same here. I haven't even got the duvet out yet, I'm still sleeping (comfortably) with just the duvet cover.

I run cold so will be sorting some kindling for the wood burner this week, our kitchen is a huge space and is where MrsHD works. It gets quite cold…

And then I’m roasting all night in bed.

This thread has reminded me that I need to put back the loft insulation that I removed when we were having some work done on the roof and in the loft. I also need to top it up, I see they now do non itchy stuff ( my last visit to the loft saw me dressed like a forensic investigator. )
Evidently 270-300mm is the optimal depth.

I did have to shut the bedroom window early this morning, but that was due to the noise created by the direction of the strong breeze rather than the cold.
Still in short sleeved tops, but I have ditched the shorts and gone for trousers around the house.
