@Dec66 did you get the issue sorted?

my chain is slipping EVERY time load is applied from a stop (at a junction or on steep hills)
bought new chain and still happening so next step is a replacement cassette me thinks

Q. can i replace a 12-27t cassette with a 12-28t? i've just fitted the chain for the current 12-27t so may have snookered myself?

That's because your chainring is worn out. Fitting a new chain to a worn ring won't help and may even make the slippage worse. Take the bike to a shop and get the mechanic to confirm which bits need replacing.

We do them as a set 9 times out of 10 on the motorcycles, people let the chains get that knackered that the sprockets have no chance!.

Easier to see a hooked or worn sprocket due to the design but if you look closely enough at bike sprockets/ chainrings you can normally see if they've had it (like the picture a few pages back!.).

More money than sense!
:evil:Running the new chain on the old rings will wear both chain and the new cassette out very quickly.

After asking for help/advice on here and completely ignoring it.:banghead:

I see a large BILL in the near future.
