"Chattering" disc brakes

The front discs on my Boardman hybrid commuter have started to "chatter". They are Avid Juicy 5s and I've been using them for about 6 months. When I pull them, they are catching and releasing several times per revolution - this causes a lot of vibration - especially at low speed.

Is it a case of cleaning the discs, replacing the pads (they don't seem worn) or is it something else?

Try cleaning them but also check there is no play in the wheel bearings as this can produce the same effect.

pour some coca cola on the discs. this will stop them 'snatching'

I had this and the disc rotors needed tightening, they felt hand tight but under the forces of braking they would 'chatter'
