WD40. Especially on titanium.
Otherwise, +1 on the Nitromors 'n gravel (safer than white spirit & washing up liquid apparrently).

Please explain why that would happen, unless the tool holding the tool is a tool.

It was a simple question, why would a jet wash used properly be any problem, I take it you ride your bike in the rain from time to time.

As I said the tool holding the tool is the problem.

Ok, I`ll explain it in simple English, so here goes........

Bearings, such as bottom bracket, wheel hubs etc etc are lubricated, yes, with me so far?

Jetwashes are very high pressure and force the lubrication out of them without you knowing, the next thing you know they are knackered. They won`t work for very long as bare metal parts will they not?^_^

Therefore bikes need to be washed and rinsed with a gentle garden hose or watering can etc in order to prevent this happening and to stop the paint chipping off.

Simple enough concept?

Me, tool?:banghead:

I will explain in very simple English as well, a jet wash is infinitely controllable, the further away you hold it the less pressure the water is at when it hits the object. Been using them for washing bikes for about 30 years without mishap, watch the pro's.

Bucket of warm water and car shampoo with my set of wheel woolies car washing brushes. Can get all around the calipers etc with these and it takes under 10 minutes to give the bike a really good wash and dry.

Then I protect it with this (also got it for the car) http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/gtechniq.aspx?gclid=CMvlw53W7L4CFVIPtAod7iYACA

Not only does it leave a glossy finish, it also puts a layer of sealant onto the surfaces of the bike and keeps it cleaner for longer. You can feel how slippery it is with the sealant on.

I think many people are not sure how to use a jet wash, which is why they seem to think they do damage. Sorry to say this but in safe hands it is a safe tool.
