Cleaning...

Hi

A chap at work recommended this for cleaning bikes... https://wd40.co.uk/bike/bike-cleaner/ He is a very keen road cyclist doing about 6000 miles a years and started using this reckons it does a good job..

Anyone else used it and have opinions

Muc-Off Bike Cleaner....spray on, have a cup of tea/coffee....hose off and dry with a cloth. Even simpler.

Your post reminded me that I've run out and need to replenish the supplies, Halfords seem to be good value at a bit under £24 for the 5 litre size so might be making a click'n'collect order soon.

Bucket of hot water with washing up liquid. Sponge and brushes.
Dry and lube.

That looks a lot like tfr to me, of which I pay £12.50 for 5gallons then dilute by about 10 to 1 making 50 gallons. Mine does not have a known name on it.

I use wipes after any long rides. I pay special attention to the drive chain.

If the bike is very dirty, car shampoo. Drive chain gets special treatment. Chain off into a degreaser to soak.

Yup I agree and a good point. You can get greener (I think biodegradable) ones. Ecocover I think these are that I’m using or a German (?) equivalent. I bin them rather than flush. Not 100% ideal.

Unfortunately yes. If it's any consolation I've had to clean mine today, first time for several weeks. Fairy liquid, a bucket of water and a sponge, when it was dry I polished it with furniture polish.
