Give me a map rather than a computer any day. When was the last time you had a paper map which you couldn't use due to a flat/dead battery?

Plot your route on Bikehike or similar, print out the MAP on A4, put in A4 transparent pocket, fold put in jersey pocket. Look at before and during ride and have idea of where you are, where you've been, and where you're going, and what's around you. Enjoy.
