Yes, slowlyand is it getting any better so far?
It's unquantifiable in such a short period of time. And at longer periods of time there are many more factors that can affect such a topic. So who knows if it is any good?and is it getting any better so far?
fake/duplicate plates. I know of a Mazda 6 that was masquerading as a transit vanIts not just about risk, its about theft too, how many less bikes would be stolen if they had to be identifyable when on the road, it would be like a car without a number plate in a way.
No but they will know who the owner is. Most seem to want the driver brought to task for their driving, and the only way is to be identifyable by the licence, so the police can trace them. How many times have you heard " drat I missed his number so he will get away with it"Me personally? Nope, that would ruin the system we have.
The police, of course, but as i said, number plates do not mean that you will know who the cyclist is.
What will we do about boris bikes?
True, but your using singular excuses, there are a lot more found than you dont want to agree with.fake/duplicate plates. I know of a Mazda 6 that was masquerading as a transit van
Im just saying I think it would help in some ways.I can't think of a country where cycle licensing is taking place.
If it is such a great idea why isn't it widely implemented?
But bikes are so easily stolen and hardly ever reported as such, that the owner can just claim it was stolen. No but they will know who the owner is. Not really, even with 'hard' to purchase registration plates they seem to be fairly common place. I know of 5 or 6 incidents where fake plates have been used on vehicles, like the same set of safe guards are going to be put in place for cycles where the costs involved are going to be a significant.True, but your using singular excuses, there are a lot more found than you dont want to agree with.
Now we're getting somewhere. It would make it harder to sell a stolen bike on, there is one reason and you dont agree .But bikes are so easily stolen and hardly ever reported as such, that the owner can just claim it was stolen.
I have never heard anything along those lines, we must socialise in different circles.
one good thing that could come of numberplate bicycles (assuming they also get VIN), it will be harder to sell a stolen bicycle on.
It also makes it harder for any bike to be sold on.
So what is your reason for wanting to stay anonymous while out cycling?
Why thank youIn which case you are unique.

Well cos col is my name, and I like yoda. Because this is a forum and not face to face live chatting. What's your reason for calling yourself Col and using a picture of Yoda rather than using your full name and real picture?
