Today, while walking along the always busy Team Valley dual carriageway two female cyclists passed me doing about 7mph.
At the roundaout ahead the lead cyclist, at the same 7mph speed and without looking entered, staying left and crossed the left exit to go straight ahead, relying on medium speed traffic to stop and let her cross. The companion following close behind did the very same in close proximity.
I was quite flabbergasted at their reliance on drivers to look after their safety. Me, I would likely have, strategic timing, sprinted across that 1st exit ensuring I was going car speed, thus minimising risk of side swipe.
I really doubt the lead cyclist even knew she was chancing it.
