Happy Days - had it confirmed that the TV is covered under warranty

Anyway, I spoke to the Panasonic warranty dept yesterday and the lass I spoke to was fantastic. She simply checked my postcode and immediately confirmed it registered and covered, and within a minute had emailed me a copy of the certificate as well. She gave me a number of a local service agent, and the TV is being collected tomorrow
Ah, isn't it great when you get someone like that who sees you as a customer and his/her job is to try and help you rather than weasel out of it to save the company money, or because they can't be arsed to help!
I had a 17" Idek Iyama CRT PC monitor in the days when they still cost over £500 and it went wrong about 2 weeks out of warranty. I wasn't hopeful, but I rang the UK distributor and a helpful woman took the details. I had a sinking feeling when she asked for the purchase date ...
Me: "It was xx/yy/zzzz."
Her: "Hmm, that is 2 weeks out of warranty."
Me: "Er, yes, I suppose so."
Her: "Never mind, I'll put it down as xx/yy+1/zzzz to get it through our system! Your Return number is ..."
