Time will tell, but my guess is that like most things made from CF, it's hard to make them well so they'll be expensive. Alu wheels will be here for the foreseeable.

It isn't hard to make anything . Manufacturers are reluctant to invest in the tooling to do it . That's why things are expensive . Once everyone invests in the tooling and machines the prices will come down . The great thing is due to the disc brake thing there will be loads of cheap wheels for sale :hyper:

Evening all,

I cannot for the life of me find any 40mm 700c aluminium wheels/rims, every variation of a google search goes straight to carbon!:banghead: is this death of the deep rim ally wheel?

I have a small budget of £200 Max.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Why on earth would you want 40mm section aluminium rims?

Purley for the look. No other rereason, just looks mega. I would do deeper but only offer carbon

Deep aluminium rims don't have much of a market. Anyone running a rim deeper than 25 mil these days, is going to go for carbon or ceramic. The cost of Chinese carbon, versus the cost of a low volume specialist ally rim is going to make it a no brainer for most people.
