All Scottish people wear those black patent things with big brass buckles on the top. Cool for wearing when playing your bagpipes but not a lot of use south of the border

Why don't you swap a foot with someone who's got a left 9 and a half and a right 11? Make sure you double check it's the correct foot before you saw it off though.

Would wearing one shoe a size too big cause any problems?
I've got size seven feet (no jokes please) but I normally have to wear size eight shoes because they're the smallest that I can find.
They don't feel uncomfortable and I haven't suffered any ill effects.

Personally I wouldn't take any risks with my feet. You might not feel ill effects now, but you may well in the future.

cant say I have ever had a problem finding size 7 shoes
