Surely as time goes on Classic car owners will have to look at making them more eco friendly and what with upcoming legislation i can see this or similar options being retro fitted .

As we all know the biggest issue is going to be where to place the 10 x cr2032

AA batteries are the way forward.

Think it was Michelin who were developing something similar, except it was going to include suspension and braking too. Got the impression the desig was just to take a car body and bolt the complete thing up in one go, one on each side.
Would raise interesting question of where to fit them - FWD? RWD? 4x4? or even 6x6 if you want. Could create a good off roader without the need for diff locks.

On a serious note for a second, this could be a major breakthrough. Many manufacturers buy engine and gearbox packages from another, and this could quickly become the off-the-self alternative for smaller leccy car makers.

Better even than that, it could be designed to eliminate diffs and half-shafts, meaning you could get the equivalent of portal axles and their enormous ground clearance, without all the weight and gearing friction losses.

I suppose with proper digital control any questions about constancy of wheel velocity could also be worked out, if need be.
