Is flying Monkey Pete Doherty on the sly? He's always wearing tweed 3 piece suits.

Me? - No. Don't have to, don't want to. I think I gave up the tie some 15 years ago, but there's still a tangled wad of ties in one of my desk drawers. Can't think why.

Curiously, the last chap in the office who always came in full suit and tie (now retired and - I trust - happily un-suited!) was a guy in a wheelchair. I think I asked him about it, in passing, once: was wondering whether he'd come out with stuff like "I may be disabled but in some ways I'm a lot smarter than the rest of you". But happily he made no such remark, he simply said "I wear a suit because I like wearing a suit, I feel comfortable in a suit, I feel it's the right thing to come to work in a suit". This was a guy speaking, who'd been paraplegic since childhood.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
In one of my offices I'm not expected to; in the other I am. It all depends who I'm meeting and where I am. My industry is somewhat old-fashioned in that respect - there are still buildings in London housing multiple companies where suits and ties are compulsory for men.

the Tie is banned in hospitals now as it was the only item of clothing that never got washed and was regard as a great way to spread bugs
white coats are banned as well

Wore on when I first started work as was mandatory when clerking court or tribunal hearings. Moving into office roles I found the jacket was only warn on the train spending the working day on a hanger.

Now its smart Rohan slacks with shirt & tie plus smart casual Clarks shoes. Easy in the office or riding the Brommy or a BoBi. Sports jacket kept in a cupboard for odd occasion when a jacket's needed.

Suit retained for interviews and the two or three days a year I'm in event host mode.

This image came to mind first!

I used to look not totally unlike him when I had long hair. I'm probably a good 6 inches shorter than LLB though.

Would hate to work in an office where I would have to be smart every day. I may look smart as I often wear a shirt and cufflinks though a t-shirt almost as often, and good shoes. First job or two I had to do classic smart (suit like trouser, shirt tie) and am so glad I've not had to do that for over 10 years.

Now I do some working from home and I've got up late on occasion, started almost right away and still be in dressing gown come lunch time.

One job I used to wear suit - either jacket and trousers or jacket and skirt. Last job I had however, I worked nights and we could wear jeans, which was great. Sometimes some of the girls wore strapless tops and shorts - which I'm sure the guys liked but I think were a bit daft for work. Then they complained it was cold.
