Flamboyant paints are still widely available, someone like @Spokesmann may well know where to source it but it will probably be an enamel paint that needs baking.Any ideas what colour this would have been originally and what modern 'name' for the shade might it be?
Ive googled and found they came in electric blue and flamboyant royal carmine. Going to look a bit of a dick at the paint factors asking for that!
Yep, my thoughts too, I've also got the feeling it's a translucent over a base colour finish a bit like 'Pearlescent'As far as I know a good flam paint job needs to be done for a good refinisher.

It's looking nice .View attachment 405155 1st coat of colour on the frame. Going to whack on 2 colour coats then 3 lacquer. Getting there slowly.
