@longers thanks I hope so too...
Baggy said:Kirstie, it's a difficult situation - even with friends it's hard to get across that you're worried about them without them feeling you're being judgemental, or that you don't understand, so I hope things come right eventually.

A lunchtime pint and a chat with old friends, a rollie with a mug of tea in the garden watching the sun come up, a glass of wine with a good meal, a gentle 20 miles bike ride on a spring afternoon. All these things make me happy, thats why I do them. Should I not?
Jeez yes. Only trouble is the roll-ups were actually killing me, and running my life. (@RT, I have done a quick calculation and realised that the 12.5 g pouches are actually 1/4 ounce of Drum, but easily did one of those a day, somewhere between 20 and 30 smokes).)bobg said:As my old Gran used to say "a little of what you fancy does you good"

Fnaar said:Never one to let a Dexys reference go unnoticed, I should point out that bits of Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes", which includes the lines "You don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do?" are widely interpreted as a dig at Dexys singer Kevin Rowland, who was into having the band not drink and not smoke etc blah blah. Sorry, just had to point that out. As you were.![]()

Unfortunately - as a smoker in my youth but not for 30 years - there seems to be no safe level for smoking. It's not like drinking, where low level consumption does you no harm at all and may even do you some good.Rhythm Thief said:if it was possible to keep a rollie habit at one or two a day until the end of time, I'd be more than happy to carry on smoking. But it doesn't work like that, for most people: before you know where you are you're smoking more than is good for you.![]()
