Do people here understand the time pressure these delivery drivers are under?
Probably 100+ drops a day, have you seen the condition of the Amazon vans.
You want it cheap this is what you get.
That does not excuse criminal behaviour.

how can they tell that a bank note is inside a greeting card?
There's likely a decent hit rate, else they wouldn't do it.

Buy from shops that use Royal mail, a far better delivery service.
See above for examples of alleged theft by the Royal Mail.

RM are so bad here I actually breathe a sigh of relief when Evri are doing the job. Our local Evri lady is lovely and is as well liked and efficient (albeit she doesn't hang about) in the manner the postie was 3 decades ago. It gets to something when the woeful Evri are setting the benchmark!

Our regular postman does something like 6 days on 3 days off. When he’s off the other postman always fails deliver anything bulky leaving it the regular guy.

But if you have specified it as safe....

...then that person would be an eejut.

And no, having checked that would not absolve the vendor of liability. However, bi signing the declaration with the courier when accepting a safe space delivery you absolve the courier of responsibility. However, the vendor is not party to any such contract so could still pursue the vendor for compo. Its all smoke and mirrors.

Regardless of what you sign, you cant sign away your CRA 2015 rights or the vendors legal or contradtual rights. If it isn't delived, ie, accepted by a suitable human being, the vendor ultimayely remains liable. Any malarkey about safe spaces is a legal argument for the vendor to have with the courier.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Super fast delivery is becoming the norm, even if you don't want it.

I ordered some odds and sods of hardware from Toolstation at the weekend. I'd have got them frome Wickes down the road but they didn't stock them. Toolstation's delivery options are next day, before 12 next day and same day. There wasn't a "take your time, no rush" option.

Fair play to them they did arrive on Monday morning. But I'm unlikely to get around to using them for a few weeks.

Then they ask for a review, 5 mins after they’ve been delivered

So from Royal Mail yesterday I get an email saying your parcel will be delivered between 11:20 and 1:20. So I take the dog out for a walk and I return I find an email from them sent at 9:20 saying your parcel will be delivered between 10:25 and 4:25.🤷🏼‍♂️
