Sinner wasn’t a Sinner. What a total crap show it’s all been. I never doubted him TBH.

And Contador never ate a dodgy steak...

I asked a 65 year old farmer if that was possible & he said it’s impossible under our farming laws but even in other countries it’s very unlikely to get steroids in your system from the meat. He also said they tend to wait a while before killing medicated animals as it can make the meat taste horrible.

We can't afford to get too high-horsey about this. Looks like Sinner has got off a doping rap (or at least reduced the sanction to nothing) by deployment of very expensive lawyers, where lesser (poorer) athletes would have fared worse. Similar to the Froome salbutamol business a few years back.

Money talks, and it doesn't necessarily mean corruption à la Armstrong and the UCI, it's just that good lawyers cost a lot.

It's the rich wot gets the pleasure, it's the poor wot gets the blame. It's the same the ole world over, isn't it a blummin shame?

Wasn't there an issue in China where everyone tested positive for steroids? Including the person in charge of testing?

Yeah we can. Tennis is corrupt as f*ck when it comes to doping. All high level sport is.

Cycling has had a justified bad rep for years, it's about time others started getting pulled up.

Messi wouldn't even be a footballer if he wasn't pumped full of HGH, for example.

Hopefully everyone ignores it and it goes away.
My worry is that PEDs are now far more common in society. So it could gain traction.

Just look at the amount of unnaturally big armed gorillas you see in the gyms. Many are casual users.
And how many weekend warrior cyclists take PEDs?
I played lots of rugby in 1990s and 2000s. Even gym work was quite a novelty back then. Now plenty of players are heavily muscled and anecdotally PEDs are fairly common in the amateur game.

If you know the signs it's pretty easy to see what sort of juice the gym monkeys are on.

Useless fact. A lot of coppers lift, if only because many police premises have gyms. Every now and again the government start a national initiative to catch coppers who might be on the juice for no other reason that they're hench. I got pith tested a couple of times even though I wasn't on anything stronger than Gatorade.

And do you know how many coppers they caught on the juice since I joined in January 1991? Not a single one.

Tom Simpson died whilst under the influence of PEDs and trying to go up Ventoux quick enough.

Whilst it is possible to control and test for drugs so that no athlete is using ones that would put their short or long term health in jeopardy, you are doing very little other than what the current drug testing regime is doing, even in terms of self-declaring drugs that you are using (medical exemptions, anyone?).

But would an athlete knowingly take a drug that is putting their health at risk, even in the long term? I think they would.
